Phase 1 of The Skills Centre for Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology was completed in 1998. It provided 27,000 s.f. of new automotive training facilities for motor vehicle maintenance and autobody work. Constructed under budget, this facility delivered a cost effective solution to a cost conscious college with high appreciation for meeting specific program requirements and the need for high impact and creative design. In 2008 the 15,328 ft2 Phase 3 was constructed adding a welding shop, lounge and classroom space to the building as well as a new main entrance to tie into the master plan for the entire campus. It provides an appropriate book end to phase 1 and the needed entry marker to the master plan fit-out to the Welland campus.
