The 13,000 square feet Jericho House Youth Leadership & Spirituality Centre was designed with Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie style in mind. The design creatively makes use of space by combining generous interior space with a non-institutional exterior. The non-intrusive presence on the site and neighbourhood, the building scale, material selection, colours and location, which abuts yet preserves the forest, were all key design considerations. The location, near an existing Carolinian Forest, provides a very strong 'sense of place' while at the same time enriching the buildings in the community and providing a distinctive structure to the surrounding area. The interior design responds to the programme needs by providing large open spaces, as well as, smaller more intimate settings.
