Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood at the foot of the escarpment in South St. Catharines, St. Peter Catholic Elementary School was in need of a new front entrance to replace the existing well-worn canopy. The new front entrance canopy was designed to provide an appealing approach to the school while promoting high-quality design.
The new canopy incorporates a variety of unique features such as the offset masonry landscape walls, cement board panels, LED tape light fixtures, a v-groove woodgrain soffit, and HSS columns. Not only do the HSS 'tree' columns provide structural support but they also drain water from the roof, with one support 'arm' that channels water through a downspout outlet located in the landscape masonry wall.
This entrance renovation project was completed in 2020.
